Amber is a licensed professional counselor of mental health who works with clients ages 12 and up, including LGBTQ+ teens, adults, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment-based injuries, and more. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University, earned in 2023. She has a special focus on working with adoptive and foster families and children, having worked as a foster care and adoption case manager for thirteen years. She earned a Certificate of Adoption Competency with Springfield College in 2024.
Amber practices from a person-centered, humanistic, attachment-focused, trauma-informed, and strengths-based framework. She draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dyadic Development Psychotherapy (DDT), tailoring therapy to meet the individual needs and goals of each client.
She is also deeply aware of the challenges that arise from living within complex systems which often lie at the root of personal and family struggles. She brings this social awareness into the therapeutic space, offering support that is validating, compassionate, and empowering.
A self-proclaimed nerd, Amber enjoys incorporating clients’ passions—such as gaming, fandoms, fantasy, or comics—into therapy when appropriate. She sees these interests as valuable tools for connection, expression, and healing.
Whether working through trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, life transitions, or family dynamics, Amber offers a warm and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and encouraged to grow.
