El takes an experiential, body-based approach to therapy — less about analyzing what happened, more about staying with what’s alive right now, in the body, in the relationship between client and therapist. They draw on training in Gestalt therapy and somatic approaches to create a collaborative space where clients can explore who they are, process complex and relational trauma, and find their way toward more easeful lives.
El specializes in working with gender-expansive and queer clients, performing artists and arts workers, activists and organizers, and people integrating psychedelic experiences. As a former musician and labor organizer, El is particularly drawn to supporting people who are doing the liberatory work of deprogramming from systems that were never built for them.
El holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of Baltimore and a certificate in Gestalt Therapy from the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia.
