Intern Starting in September 2026 – currently onboarding new clients
Beya Kala she/her (Clinical Mental Health Counseling therapist-in-training) is a graduate counseling student at Temple University completing her clinical internship under supervision. Beya is passionate about creating a warm, affirming, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel safe exploring their experiences without judgment.
Her clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, relationship concerns, life transitions, and the impact of cultural and family systems on mental health. As a Congolese American and first-generation daughter, Beya is particularly passionate about supporting women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people navigating the intersection of culture, identity, and belonging.
Beya approaches therapy from a trauma-informed, person-centered perspective while integrating attachment theory, multicultural counseling, somatic awareness, and evidence-based practices. She believes healing happens within authentic relationships and works alongside clients to build self-understanding, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that have been overlooked or silenced.
Whether clients are working through trauma, navigating major life changes, or simply seeking greater clarity and emotional well-being, Beya strives to create a space where they feel seen, empowered, and supported throughout their healing journey.
